Congratulations on your decision to take part in the Chrysalis program. This program will comprise of 4 days of experiential leadership training, equipping delegates with practical working knowledge of the management skills necessary to be successful in practice. The Chrysalis program focuses on empowering delegates to implement change within the broader team, thereby providing more of your team members with the leadership knowledge to support you in your own journey. We hope that you embrace Chrysalis to its’ fullest extent and we commit to making a tremendous impact on the effectiveness of your team.

Your team members have been placed in Chrysalis Oscar. The Chrysalis Oscar workshop will be held from Monday December 6th through to Thursday December 9th at The Hilton, Surfers Paradise.

Lincoln Background

The Chrysalis program draws upon experience gained from the Australian Graduate School of Management MBA program, The Royal Military College Duntroon officer training school and many years of operational experience in both business and the military. Through this, the program will enable your team members to hold staff more accountable, communicate with them more effectively and build a high performing team. Moreover, by developing a better understanding of the high impact of emotional intelligence, your team members will learn how to maintain discipline without diminishing trust as well as how to effectively tap into the diversity that exists across your entire team.

Lincoln uses learning principles to enable new skills to be reinforced. These foundations enable delegates to apply their knowledge and skills to rapidly changing operational settings.

“Tell me and I’ll forget

Show me and I’ll remember

Involve me and I’ll understand

When I reflect I’ll learn”                                                                               Xunzi, 312-230 BC

Program objective

The objective of Chrysalis is to equip delegates with a practical working knowledge of the management and leadership skills necessary to be successful in practice. We’ll enable them to:

  • Give feedback and construct a message so that it strengthens relationships and encourages change – with both team members and clients
  • Build a culture of accountability
  • Recognise when delegated tasks are being pushed back onto the leader – and how to stop it happening
  • Deal with stress ‘in the moment’ – and build resilience so that they can handle it in the long term
  • Manage their time effectively
  • Differentiate between a ‘training’, ‘performance’ and ‘mental health’ discussion – how to recognise which one is appropriate and how to do them well
  • Lead discussions with difficult clients including fee collection and expectation management
  • Conduct a great interview (hiring and performance managing).

Our Chrysalis program will deliver on these outcomes in 6 ways:

  1. Transformation: We need to change your their environment to encourage new thinking. This will take place over 3.5 days of ‘off-site’ training led by Paul Ainsworth.
  2. Implementation: Knowledge itself has little power – effectively implementing knowledge is the key. Lincoln will work to enable this throughout the training, as well as 3 months of subsequent group coaching.
  3. Time: Lincoln will get the transformation underway in a week. You will see an immediate uplift in their engagement and productivity on their return and a subsequent lift across the entire team whilst Lincoln holds your leaders accountable.
  4. Accountability: Your junior leaders will live and breathe accountability (if they don’t already) and they’ll know how to hold everyone else in your team to account. Lincoln is accountable to ensure that the junior leaders return to their practices and implement change.
  5. Community: The cohort of 24, non-competing, like-minded junior leaders will support each other to grow for a long time after the program has completed.
  6. Financial: The investment in the program is outlined below. The Return on Investment is immeasurable in terms of increased engagement, retention, confidence, skill, knowledge, the capacity to get the most from team members and the pipeline of dedicated future leaders for your practice.

Course work

Course workbooks will be provided at the training (group session).  There is no requirement for delegates to bring anything other than some personal stationery.

Group Training

The training week commences on a Tuesday at 8.00am for coffee with an 8.30am sharp start time.   Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided. The group days finish at around 5.30pm with time to freshen up before a group dinner at 7pm.  Dinner on 2 of the 3 nights is included in your package (including drinks)  The program provides a strong networking opportunity for people experiencing the similar challenges – the dinner is a good opportunity to work on those relationships.

The final (4th) group day finishes no later than 3.30pm on Friday and this marks the conclusion of the group training.

Group Coaching

Chrysalis includes 3x monthly group coaching sessions. Each of these coaching sessions is set by the group (according to diaries), commencing 30 days after the completion of the group training, and is designed to consolidate and reflect on the training content to ensure that it is being satisfactorily applied.

Ongoing Group Coaching

Lincoln offers delegates the opportunity to continue to work together beyond the third group coaching session. This enables members to maintain a strong connection with their course colleagues as they continue to grow in their roles beyond the 4 month training program. Furthermore, the groups like to maintain access to the Lincoln online portal for updates in training material and access to the various online resources.

If delegates wish to continue to maintain a structured group coaching call each quarter (hosted by Lincoln) and access to Lincoln’s online resources, a nominal fee of $97 (+GST) per month is billed to the practice. This is a flat fee for the practice and covers all delegates that have attended any Chrysalis program.

Not Included

Any overnight accommodation or breakfast.  As the program finishes mid afternoon on Day 4, there is no dinner provided, should your delegates elect to travel home on the Saturday following the program.
