Dr Michael Powell BVSc (Hons)

Director

Mick Powell joined Lincoln as a director in 2016 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience in leadership and business management.
He is a highly regarded veterinary surgeon and veterinary business consultant who lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland with his wife and three children. Mick graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 1994 and has been practising for more than 22 years, both in Australia and overseas.

In the past 10 years Mick and his wife Nichola devoted their energy to developing an ASAVA Accredited Hospital of Excellence with a team of 6 vets and 14 support staff, located in Beenleigh. In 2014, the MPV Profit and Expenses survey ranked them the number one practice in Australia for both normalized net profit as well financial return per principal (EBIT). Despite the low average income of residents in its location, Mick’s practice also enjoyed an average year-on-year growth in turnover of 18% and steady new client numbers of approximately 1400 per annum.
Mick attributes much of the success of the business in its latter years to the more effective implementation of business development strategies and systems with the application of advanced leadership training, received through the Lincoln Institute. In September 2014, Mick made himself strategically redundant within his Business to the degree that he negotiated its sale to a corporate group for a 5-times multiple with no work out period; something unheard of in the professional services industry at the time.

2015 saw Mick and his family sell their home and head off for a yearlong adventure living in Italy. Now back on home soil, Mick is focusing full-time on pursuing his passion for helping other business-owners achieve success and is proud to be a part of the leadership training and coaching team at the Lincoln institute.

“My firm belief is that Leadership is the missing link to success and I encourage all business owners and leaders to develop this before anything else”
